The complexity of the repair varies depending on the make and model of the phone. The simplest ones can be done with a phillips head screw driver and a new display. Others require Torx screwdrivers, case opening tools, suction pads and a soldering iron.
The simplest and easiest screens to fit probably belong to the early nokias. All you will need is a set of torx screwdrivers. These are available at the repair website shop.
Some samsung phones have the ribbons soldered into place which can cause you difficulties if you are an inexperienced solderer.
It is hard to open the 3g iphone without causing it damage unless you use a suction pad to remove the screen component.
You should also be aware that during the opening process you can damage the internal ribbons of a phone if you are unfamiliar with.
